Eh y’all! Rodson here, handler and owner of Jasper & Louie aka CanadianBros. We’re originally from the Canadian Rockies of Alberta – Currently living in Toronto, Ontario Canada which has brought us much closer to the waters of the Great Lakes. I’m always looking for the next adventure with a slight twist to include my boys any way I can and as much as possible which brought interest in Stand-Up Paddle boarding.

I’ve been warned that having pets will limit me from enjoying certain parts of my life, but I wanted to prove them all wrong and thankfully I’ve been right or maybe I got lucky having dogs that have the same mindset as me to explore and challenge the norm. These husky crosses are not really keen to dive right in the water, but they have taken on paddle boarding so well (to my surprise) and I’m thrilled to enjoy this activity with them to add to our weekly summer adventures. Living in the big city can be intense so it’s important to stay active not only for myself but for my two boys – not to mention we live in a small condo so exercise is essential for us.

I’ve selected the NAUTICAL 11.6” to ensure both of them can fit comfortably with a bit of wiggle room and it’s been an amazing experience especially for its stability even when we’re paddling against the current. Initially, we did some training at home then on land with plenty of treats, and finally on the water by themselves with me in the water guiding them.

Finally, it was time to get on the board with them and it was a success as they got more comfortable each time. What I mean by each time was repeating these steps a few rounds until they would hop on and off the board by themselves.
